Leslie Ann McGuinn was born in Richmond Virginia on June 25, 1976 to Karen Smith and Larry Long. In April of 1977 Karen married Eddie Nolen, whom adopted Leslie and raised her for the next 11 yrs. Karen and Eddie had Leslie's 2 sisters Christie born on August 30, 1978 and Elizabeth born on April 24, 1980. When Leslie was 9 Karen & Eddie divorced. Leslie lived the next 3 years in Ga with Eddie and her step mother June along with their son Travis and June's son Bobby. When Leslie was 12 she returned to Virginia to be with her mother, 2 sisters and William Abrahamian. On December 29, 1989 her parents (Karen & Bill) married. Bill has 2 daughters from previous marriages Angela and Kimberly. Leslie first spoke with her biological father when she was 15 years old, he was stationed in Germany during Desert Storm, she was 19 the first time she met him in person. Leslie has a sister Alison and a brother Larry Jr by her biological father.
Leslie met her soulmate, Jeffrey McGuinn, when a mutual friend introduced them in late Febuary 1995. Leslie and Jeff became instant friends and began dating on April 7, 1995. There relationship progressed rapidly and they were married on January 26, 1996. Leslie was 19 and Jeff was 18 (he turned 19 the next day). On January 18, 2002 they found out that they were expecting a baby, then just 5 days later on January 23, 2002, they were told they had lost the baby. However, while she did lose a child that night, Leslie was still carring a baby girl whom at 24 weeks gestasion decided it was time to meet her mommy and daddy at 6:29 pm on June 2, 2002. Over the years Leslie has wanted to be many things, from a lawyer to an actress, from a pshycologist to a singer, but she always wanted to be known. When Leslie was in the tenth grade at LC Bird High School in Chesterfield Virginia, she had an English teacher whom really made Leslie think about being a writer/poet. And Leslie has been writing ever since.
Today, at 30 years old, Leslie lives in Highland Springs, Virginia with her soul mate Jeff and their beautiful little girl Harleyann. They have 3 cats (Buddy, Bear & Alexis) and 4 kittens (Ewoke, Tangerine, Shadow & Tiger) , that they are trying to find homes for. Leslie works at her in-laws car dealership and writes any chance she gets.
She is working on getting her name and first book of poetry out there for the world to know. She just recently acquired an agent to help her sell her next work. It is a children's book entitled Michael the Monkey. Look for details to come soon. She is in the midst of several other writing projects details to come.
